KATTAR'S dam (mother) Bint Samanna's dam is *Samanna ("Bint" means daughter-of in Arabic). Bint Samanna was named in honor of her illustrious dam.

*SAMANNA (Gharib x Scharaya) was born at the Marbach State Stud in Germany. Her sire Gharib was a tall, athletic black stallion purchased to give some 'stretch', length of leg and athletic ability to the predominately small and typey German program. Few of the Marbach-bred Gharib daughters were ever available to the public except to a few elite, well-connected customers. In Germany *SAMANNA was bred to Sanadik's sire, *EL SHAKLAN, to produce *SHAREM EL SHEIKH. 'SHEIKH' was imported to the U.S. and was always supreme champion in shows. He won unanimous Scottsdale Champion Stallion and unanimous Buckeye Champion Stallion - two of the most prestigious shows in this country.

KATTAR'S sire DREAMCATCHER'S pedigree is from champions and champion- producers that come from Spanish and Egyptian bloodlines. The fame of his sire line is legendary – Thee Renegade, Thee Desperado, The Minstril and Ruminaja Ali. The success of Dreamcatcher’s damline is nearly incomparable. His dam, Shaia, is an exquisite mare that epitomizes Arabian type and femininity and won the hearts of many, as she showed to the honors of U.S. Top 10 and Canadian Reserve Champion Mare. Shaia's sire, *Simeon Shai, was crowned Scottsdale Champion Stallion, Canadian National Champion, U.S. National Champion and World Champion Stallion.
